On the 24th of April the Green Sofa Gallery present an exhibition of the works of Oleg Ghyzhy entitled Summer Vacations of the 68th. The name of the display is inspired by the sweet memories of the artist’s childhood; they are bright and already non-existent images of women wearing polka dotted dresses, Georgians selling fruit, and enameled kettles. It is the feeling of nostalgia, the emotions of an artist, his mood. Sigmund Freud used to state that all subconscious is from our childhood, and creations of an artist can not be regarded from the point of view of logics, but the sensuality. He painted his summer in winter; maybe that is why it looks so fine, so idealistic – like vacations of a schoolboy.

Oleg Ghyzhy was born in 1963, graduated Lviv Art Academy in 1990, the department of ceramics. Now he is a freelancing artist.

Main exhibitions – Prague 2004, 2005, 2006. Gent (Belgium) , Kyiv-2000 (The House of Artists), Stuttgart -2000 and intergallery exhibition in Hanover.

The artist is going to represent a brand-new catalogue at the exhibition.  The display will be on until the 13th of May.

Photos of the exposition:
The summer of 68th. A red kettle. Reading. A girl with a book.
The two in a boat. Look! What a moon! A piano playing for fun. Lying in bad.
Sweet dreams of a girl. The night on a beach in Nice. A club of stewed cucumbers lovers. Happy people.
A grey cat. But he is sleeping. The table for one. In a tram.
Honey moon trip. She is waiting. Cherries. Taste an apple!
