Our city has a Lion’s name, so no wonder that there are a lot of events, literary and artistic works and piles of souvenirs dedicated to Lion.

Apart from this the art of stained glass was always popular and widespread in Lviv. Lately it has become really wanted in the field of interiors. So, Lvivian artist Natalia Gaidash, decided to create an exhibition of 3-dimensional stained glass in the Green Sofa Gallery entitled “Carnival in the city of lions”.

Her lions symbolize months of calendar, there are 12 of them, like in the fairy tale, and their names are – January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November and December. All of them are big in Size, The type of stained glass that Natalia makes is called – tiffani. Creation of such exposition demands a lot of work. Photo of these lions is a basis to the calendar for 2009 year ( design of A.Kloss) presentation of which will take part on the opening of exhibition.

Natalia Gaidash was born in 1978 in Nadvirna, Ivano-frankivska oblast. She graduated Kosiv Art Collage and Lviv Art Academy, the Department of monumental art. She took part in Lviv Autumn Salon “Vysoky Zamok, 2000, in Christmas Exhibition in the Green Sofa Gallery. And also in the group exhibition in Ivano-FrANKIVSK Museum of 2008.

This exhibition – Carnival in the city of lions – is the first personal exhibition of hers.

It will be on from 4th to 23rd of November 2008.
