On the Saint John’s day the Green Sofa Gallery presents an exhibition entitled “Tsifrovani Garadychi” by Dana Yakimchuck, Lilia Lupul and Youlia Fadeeva. The artists, inspired by theethnic motifs, will demonstrate experimental and modern interpretations in traditional textile technologies.
The title of the exhibition - Tsifrovani Garadychi - derive from rousin dialect and mean richly decorated with naive ornaments stairs that lead to the porch. The stairs symbolize a bridge between the outer world and the inner, private life. The look of these garadytchi will reveal the essence of the lady of the house, her life experience and subconscious wishes.
Tsifrovani garadychi of the three artists represent the place where you can observe three female stories: painted, embroidered, underslept, underwent and dreamt. All exposed to your observation.
The opening of the will take place on the 7th of July at 5 o’clock. You will tase the magic potion, enjoy the singing of Alla Pylypchuck, will see the central composition “Tsifrovani Garadychi” made by the artists especially for the exhibition.
The exhibition will be on till the 26th of July.
Dana Yakimchuck was born in Lviv. Education: 1994 – Vyzhnytsia Art College named after V.Shkribliak, department of artistic textile. 200 – Lviv Art Academy, department of artistic textile. She lives and works in Lviv.
She works with hot batik, painting, collage and decoration of interiors.
Awards: 2004 m- the diploma “ For the best painting on fabric”, The first allUkrainian triannual of textile, Kiev, 1998. The award “the best work” Winter vernisage, Chernivtsi. She is the author of 5 personal exhibitions and more than 20 group exhibitions.
Lilia Lupul was born in Tlumach. Education: 1994 – Kosiv College of decorative – applied arts, department of painting. 2000 – Lviv Art Academy, department of artistic textile.
She works in the hot batik, painting, collage and patchwork. She took part in 7 exhibitions in Ukraine. She lives and works in Lviv.
Youlia Fadeeva was born in Lutsk. Education: 1992 – 1995 Rivne State Institute of culture, department of Ukrainian Studies. 1996 -2002 Lviv Art Academy, department of artistic textile.
She took part in 8 exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad (Vilnus), she works in different techniques, painting and textile.
